Okilum
A local-first Markdown editor and viewer, built for your desktop.
Meet Okilum.
Okilum is made by Oleg Kossoy under the BeFeast brand.
Okilum is a lightning-fast Markdown editor and viewer. It opens your existing Markdown vault in place — no import. Read, edit, search, follow links, and work with tasks while your files remain in folders you control.
The desktop runs locally. Your notes and search index stay on your device. An account is not required for local work; update checks contact the update service.
Made by a person. Built in the open.
Okilum is developed and operated by Oleg Kossoy, an individual, under the BeFeast brand.
The desktop source is open source under the MIT licence. You can inspect the code, report an issue, or contribute on GitHub. Dependencies, fonts, and other assets retain their own licences; see the third-party notices.
A place for ideas beyond the desktop.
Inbox is in development: capture from anywhere, then bring an idea into your work. A second-brain prototype and planned agent integrations explore how context, conversations, and actions can connect.
These are future services, not features promised in the public desktop beta. The first Inbox rollout is planned for four or five family members and friends, by invitation. Your local desktop stays independent.
Clear answers, close at hand.
